We act as a data controller in accordance with Law No. 133/2011 of the Republic of Moldova on the protection of personal data and, where applicable to our European customers, with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. What data we collect
Data you provide directly:
- Through the “Request a Quote” form: full name, email address, phone number, company name, and project details (quantity, material, dimensions, tolerances, notes);
- Technical documentation you share with us: drawings, CAD files, and specifications, which may contain your company’s confidential information;
- Contact details and correspondence when you reach us by email, phone, WhatsApp, or social media.
Data collected automatically:
- IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, visit duration — through cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy).
3. Purposes and legal basis of processing
We process your data to: prepare and send quotes and respond to your enquiries (basis: steps prior to entering into a contract); execute manufacturing orders, deliveries, and related communication (basis: performance of a contract); issue invoices and maintain accounting records (basis: legal obligations); maintain our business relationship and inform you about our capabilities, where you have consented or where we have a legitimate interest in B2B communication (basis: consent / legitimate interest); analyse Website usage and improve our services (basis: consent for analytics cookies); ensure the security of the Website (basis: legitimate interest).
4. Confidentiality of technical documentation
Drawings, CAD files, and specifications submitted with quote requests are treated as confidential business information. They are accessible only to the personnel involved in quoting and production, are not shared with third parties except subcontractors bound by confidentiality obligations (e.g., for auxiliary services such as heat treatment or surface finishing, and only to the extent necessary), and are used solely for the purpose of your project. We are open to signing NDAs upon request.
5. Who we share data with
We do not sell or rent your personal data. It may be accessed by: technical service providers (web hosting, email services) under contractual safeguards; verified subcontractors from our suppliers’ network, only to the extent necessary for auxiliary services; shipping and logistics providers, for order delivery; accounting and public authorities, where required by law. Where data is transferred outside the Republic of Moldova or the EEA, we ensure adequate safeguards.
6. Data retention
Contractual and accounting documents — in line with statutory archiving periods (generally up to 6 years); quote requests that do not result in a contract — up to 2 years; technical documentation — for the duration of the project and any agreed warranty period, or as agreed with the customer; traffic data — as described in the Cookie Policy.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, and erase your data, restrict processing, object to processing, data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing and without prejudice to our statutory retention obligations).
Requests may be sent to office@steelwise.md; we respond within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with the National Center for Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Moldova (www.datepersonale.md) or, for EU residents, with your local supervisory authority.
8. Data security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures: secure connections (HTTPS), restricted access to customer files and technical documentation, and regular security updates.
